Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start a dead hang session?

Open Hang Habit on your Watch. Tap the circle to arm, then raise your arms and hold still. The Watch times your hang and saves when you let go. Hold the circle to cancel if you armed by mistake.

Can I use just my iPhone?

Yes. No Watch, AirPods, account or Health permission is required for manual timing. On the Hang tab, choose Use manual timer instead if needed. Tap Start, wait for the countdown, then tap the red stop button after your hang. Choose Save Hang or Discard. Manual timing saves history in Hang Habit; it does not create an Apple Health workout.

How do AirPods controls work in version 2.1?

With compatible AirPods connected, tap to arm on your iPhone, then nod to start and shake your head to end. Spoken timing and breathing cues help you follow the hang. Hold the button to cancel if armed by mistake. Head gestures are not supported by every AirPods model. If the app reports that gestures are unsupported, use the manual timer.

My Watch hang has not appeared on my phone. What should I do?

Open Hang Habit on both devices, check that the Watch is connected to its paired iPhone, and allow time for delivery. A session may arrive after the devices reconnect; it is not always immediate, especially after restarting the phone. Keep both apps updated. If it still does not appear, email the app versions and approximate hang time. Do not delete or reinstall the app as a first troubleshooting step.

Which hangs can save to Apple Health?

With your permission, supported Watch and AirPods workout paths can save workouts to Apple Health. AirPods timing is part of version 2.1. The iPhone manual timer saves local app history only. Denying Health access does not prevent manual timing.

How do I control analytics sharing?

Starting with version 2.1 build 83, Settings → Analytics Sharing has two independent optional choices: app diagnostics and exercise tracking. Both are off by default, including after upgrading. Declining them preserves workout features. The original 1.5 app uses automatic analytics; update both iPhone and Watch to the latest version. The app switches do not control website analytics. See the Privacy Policy for what each version sends and how to request deletion.

Is my data backed up?

Your history is stored on your devices. Your iPhone backup may include app data according to your Apple backup settings. You can also export your hang data from Hang Habit Settings.

Can I sync between devices?

Your iPhone and Apple Watch share data automatically through the Watch connectivity framework. Cross-device sync beyond the Watch is not currently supported, keeping your data private and local.

How do I delete my data?

In Hang Habit Settings, choose Delete All Sessions to remove your saved hang history. Apple Health records, device backups and feedback or analytics already sent to providers are managed separately. See the Privacy Policy or email us for help with those records.

I denied Health data access. How do I fix it?

Open the Health app on your iPhone, tap your profile picture, then under Privacy choose Apps and select Hang Habit. Turn on the categories you want to share, then reopen Hang Habit. You do not need to uninstall the app to change Health permissions.
